About the ordering process...

Orders are reviewed by our clinical team 7 days a week. One of our clinicians may text you asking you to confirm some information or provide more details to ensure that it is safe for us to prescribe.

Our pharmacy processes prescriptions Mon-Fri 8am-3pm, and dispatch by First Class 24-hour post. You will receive a text with a tracking link once it has been dispatched.

Before prescribing, we will review your pregnancy risk as well as pharmacy processing and delivery times, to predict whether your emergency contraception will arrive in time.

Did you know...

The non-hormonal coil, also known as the IUD (intrauterine device) is the most effective emergency contraception if you get it fitted in the five days after you’ve had unprotected sex or within 5 days of ovulation.

Sometimes called the ‘copper coil’, the IUD is a small T-shaped device that sits in your womb. It will protect against pregnancy for a long time, but can be easily removed if you don’t want it anymore.

If you’re thinking of using a copper coil as emergency contraception, we recommend that you take the emergency contraceptive pill as well, just in case you can’t get a coil fitted in time. You can safely use the two methods together.

SH:24 does not provide the emergency coil. Contact your local sexual health clinic to make an appointment.
