Emergency contraception
If you would prefer to get the morning after pill in person, you can:
use the Leicester Sexual Health - Clinic and service locator to find a sexual health clinic near you
visit a pharmacy - some pharmacies may prescribe emergency contraception free of charge if you are aged 25 or under
contact your GP
Emergency IUD (non-hormonal coil)
An emergency IUD requires a coil to be fitted within 5 days after unprotected sex or contraception failure. After fitting, the IUD can act as a long term contraceptive, preventing unplanned pregnancy.

Please remember that the pill and coil will not protect you from STIs.

PEP and PrEP
PEP is a treatment that can stop an HIV infection after the virus has entered a person’s body. It must be taken as soon as possible after exposure but within 72 hours.
PrEP is a drug taken by HIV-negative people before and after sex that reduces the risk of getting HIV.
