Helen Burkitt
Senior Sexual Health and Contraception Nurse, SH:24
Helen qualified with a postgraduate diploma in adult nursing at King’s College London in 2016. She initially worked on the gynaecology ward for 2 years at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust, before moving to sexual and reproductive health in 2018.
She worked for Guy’s and St Thomas’ Sexual and Reproductive Health department in their central London clinics for 3 years, where she gained experience in genitourinary medicine and contraception. She has a DFSRH diploma in contraception, LoC SDI-IR for insertion and removal of subdermal implants and is an NMC-approved student nurse mentor.
She joined SH:24 and Fettle in 2021 as a senior sexual health and contraception nurse. Whilst working at SH:24 and Fettle she focuses on safeguarding those under 18, issuing results including HIV, hepatitis C and hepatitis B, and contraception. She also works with the communications and marketing team helping them create their clinical content.
