Katie Richards
Sexual Health and Contraception Nurse
Katie studied at the University of Nottingham for a Master of Nursing Science. She chose to specialise in women’s health once qualified and worked for many years in emergency gynaecology and early pregnancy care in Nottingham.
In 2015 she moved to Genito-Urinary Medicine and worked at senior staff nurse level, delivering all aspects of care relating to STIs, contraception and HIV.
Completing her STIF Intermediate competencies and a module on contraception means she is dual trained to provide care to users, bringing years of experience to this role.
After being the Nurse lead in the collaboration between her NHS Trust and SH:24, Katie joined the service in 2022.
Katie has a passion for the speciality as a whole, but a keen interest in women's health, HIV prevention through access to PEP and PrEP and safeguarding the young people who use our service. If you're invited to book a call with our team, you may speak to Katie.
